In AutoCAD applications, the HDI file is used in the application’s designing, visualization and documentation of ideas in an efficient and clear manner. HDI file is also an auto-install file for the HotDocs application. When downloaded from a remote server, the files come bundled with other supporting files in a ZIP format. The files can only be opened in the HotDocs application. Attempting to run or open the files will prompt the user to give a ZIP password. Once the access is given, the ZIP folder will also contain auto-assemble files with the HAD file extension. All these files are essential if the application is to be installed correctly the installation to run fully until completion.
